Alison Hinds Crowned the undisputed “Queen of SOCA” by her fans worldwide, Alison’s powerful, emotional vocals and high-energy live shows are regarded as an iconic staple in the landscape of Caribbean music. Her longstanding and dynamic career has taken her throughout the Caribbean islands and into the worldwide market.At 17, she joined ‘Square One’ as one of the band’s lead vocalist. The band recorded several albums and won multiple awards with hits like ‘Ragamuffin’,‘Twister’ and ‘Faluma’. Faluma topped the charts in Guatemala for forty-six weeks. Their album ‘Full Bloom’ was met with rave reviews and worked to boost the bands popularity.In 2005, Alison formed her own band and released her first solo album ‘Soca Queen’ in 2007. The album featured intoxicating hits like ‘Roll It Gal’ and ‘Togetherness’. Since then she’s climbed the ranks solidifying her brand step by step. Her music was released in North America, Europe and the Far East taking her to new venues and making new fans all over the world. Her second album ‘Caribbean Queen’ was delivered to a loyal and growing fanbase in 2010.Much of her work as an activist is done on behalf of the rights of women and children. She has used her platform to advocate for Women’s rights, HIV & AIDS awareness and the Diabetes foundation. She’s also worked alongside the Business and Professional Women’s association and was the first BPW Ambassador to be chosen from the Caribbean region. In December of 2012, the Soca Queen received a citation from the city of New York for her work as an activist and her contribution to Caribbean Culture.
She’s travelled the world with her music, touring throughout the U.S., Europe, Canada and the Caribbean, continuing to win awards and enamoring her fans with every performance. Her personality, grace and sophistication have solidified her standing around the world as the Soca Queen.One of Alison’s recent crowning achievements in 2017 was being awarded the title of Cultural Ambassador to Barbados. The official dedication ceremony was held in January of 2018 where Prime Minister, Freundel Stuart, awarded her official documentation. Later that month, the Barbados Independent Film Festival presented her with the Award for Artistic Excellence for her work in the Caribbean film industry thus far.Alison, who is still in the midst of a busy touring schedule, is currently preparing for a hectic 2018 on the back of her new releases “Pull Up” & “Nah Ready”.
