TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO traditional mas portraying the Amerindians of T&T, as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Caribana. The Caribs were fierce warrior-like Amerindians indigenous to the islands of the Caribbean long before the arrival of Christopher Columbus. As carnival in Trinidad blossomed so to the depicitons of traditional island characters. One of the most honoured and featured carnival costumes over the hundreds of years of Trinidad canrival is that of the "AmerIndian" - which pays homage to the islands' First people. Join us as we celebrate the culture and heritage of Trinidad & Tobago brought to Canada 50 years ago...
