About the Event:
Rum & Rhythm is a signature event for the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) Scholarship Foundation. All proceeds from the event are used to provide scholarships and financial assistance to Caribbean nationals interested in pursuing studies in tourism and hospitality, and also supports tourism employees wanting to improve their foreign language skills.
This event features rum sampling, a delicious Caribbean culinary experience and pulsating rhythms. Attendees escape to the authentic taste, sights and sounds of the Caribbean region in Toronto. Rum & Rhythm highlights the Caribbean as an attractive vacation destination, a diverse cultural region and the importance of empowering future generations to enter the tourism and hospitality sector.
ABOUT THE BENEFIT
The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) Scholarship Foundation provides scholarships and financial assistance
to Caribbean nationals interested in pursuing studies in tourism and hospitality, and also support tourism employees wanting to improve their foreign language skills. Study grants are provided to persons pursuing training towards any level of certification. Scholarships will be provided to individuals studying at a Master’s (post graduate) level, who have the desire but not the resources to pursue their dreams. Individuals granted these awards and scholarships must demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential. Since 1998, the United States based CTO Foundation has provided over 180 major scholarships and study grants to deserving Caribbean nationals, amounting to a financial outlay in excess of US$800,000.
